Boat design

Boat design:

Using my Ipad pro, I used the app 'Procreate' to design the boat; and draw different sides. I decided to pre-draw the boat instead of animating it in T.v paint; to be more economical, especially since  iv spent more time redoing my storyboards. I plan to save the file as a PSD, allowing me to transfer it into Adobe Photoshop for easy editing, or into Adobe After effects for  animating. 

My boats design is rather simplistic, I have used a mix of line and water brush tool to give an illustrative look. The use of the light on one side of the boat is a metaphor in the story telling and characters. In the beginning the first character is in the shaded part, and watches the other character in the light who is happy- and compares herself to him. The light is also used as a metaphor of hope- when the first character is missing and the second cant see her, he blows out the lantern, representing her death. Despite this light being gone, there will be a new light- a sun rise to give a new hope. 

The moss added to the bottom of the boat is also to show the change in the water- the sea begins calm and then becomes stormy as the firsts characters though process and mental health declines unhealthy- the moss shows were the water has been and helps make the movement of the water clearer to see.
